Easy Spanish Sardines Pasta Recipe

Easy Spanish Sardines pasta is a savory pasta dish made with Spanish sardines. However, unlike the usual pasta dishes where tomato sauce is used, in this recipe we used fresh tomatoes. Indeed, this recipe is a very delightful way of satisfying both seafood and pasta lovers. 

This elegant looking but budget friendly dish is very simple to make. Just pre-cook the pasta, then sauté the spices, tomatoes and sardines and toss in the pasta.

HOW TO COOK Easy Spanish Sardines Pasta Recipe

     In cooking Spanish Sardines pasta, first pre-cook spaghetti pasta and set aside. 

     To cook the pasta dish itself, heat a pan with cooking oil and sauté garlic and onion. Add in sliced tomatoes and stir fry the ingredients until cooked. Pour in spanish sardines. Stir and let it cook for  while. Scoop out the sardines, debone them before placing it back on the pan. Shred the sardines meat. Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of black ground pepper. 

     Toss in the pre-cooked pasta. Stir to evenly coat the pasta with the sardines sauce. Add salt as needed depending on your preferred taste. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve and Enjoy!

Can we use canned spanish sardines?

Yes, you can use canned spanish sardines. However, we used the bottled one in this recipe because sardines in the canned are skinned.

Where can we buy spanish sardines?

Spanish sardines can be bought in groceries and supermarkets. The brand we used can also be found in CDO factory outlets nationwide.

Tips on Cooking this recipe

  • You can drain the spanish sardines before adding it if you prefer the dish to be less greasy.
  • Make sure the pasta is cooked al dente so that it wouldn’t be soggy once you mix it with the hot sauce.
  • In cooking the pasta, make sure that you stir it occasionally to prevent it from sticking in the pot

Ingredients

  • 240 grams spanish sardines
  • 300 grams pasta
  • 4 pcs tomatoes
  • 1 pc onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 ltrs water for cooking pasta
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • cooking oil

Instructions

  • Pre-cook 300 grams of Spaghetti Pasta. Set aside. 
  • Heat a pan with cooking oil. Sauté garlic and onion. 
  • Add 4 pieces of sliced tomatoes. Stir fry the ingredients until cooked.
  • Pour 240 grams of Spanish Sardines. Stir and let it cook for  while.
  • Scoop out the Sardines and remove the bones before placing it again on the pan. 
  • Shred the sardines meat.
  • Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of black ground pepper.
  • Toss in the pre-cooked 300 grams of spaghetti pasta.
  • Stir to evenly coat the pasta with the sardines sauce.
  • Add salt as needed depending on your preferred taste.
  • Transfer to a plate, serve and enjoy!
