Milo Doughnuts

Donut or doughnut is a type of fried dough confection or dessert food. It's popular in many countries as a sweet snack that can be purchased in bakeries, food stalls, supermarkets, and franchised specialty vendors or can be made at home.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 185 ml fresh milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 piece egg
  • 80 grams sugar
  • 20 grams margarine or butter
  • cooking oil
  • 3 tbsp fresh milk for chocolate coating
  • 1 bar chocolate (Goya) for chocolate coating
  • 2 sachets chocolate powder (Milo) for chocolate coating

Instructions

  • Put 520 grams of all-purpose flour in a big mixing bowl.
  • Add 80 grams of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix all the ingredients. 
  • Add 185 ml of fresh milk, 1 piece of egg, and 20 grams of melted margarine.
  • Mix all the ingredients until it forms a dough consistency. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Heat 2 cups of cooking oil in a deep pan for deep frying.
  • Scoop a portion of the dough. Round the dough before frying.
  • Deep fry until it turns golden brown in color. 
  • Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate bar.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of fresh milk.
  • Dip the donuts in the chocolate dip. Using a strainer sprinkle chocolate powder (Milo) on top.
