Ingredients

  • 6 pcs ripe banana saba
  • 1 cup all-purpose cream
  • 1 pc egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • cooking oil
  • white sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Peel 6 pieces of banana (saba).
  • Place in a large bowl and mash the peeled banana using a mortar (or you can use the bottom part of a drinking glass).
  • Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 piece of egg, 1/2 sugar, 1 cup of water, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Mix to blend all the ingredients well. 
  • In a frying pan, heat enough amount of cooking oil for deep frying.
  • Scoop a portion of the banana mixture. Deep fry until it turns golden brown in color.
  • Sprinkle some white sugar on the top. Serve for merienda!
