CHICKEN HAMONADO RECIPE – Filipino Food

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken
  • 1 can pineapple juice 240ml
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 pc onion chopped
  • 4-5 pcs pineapple slices
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • black pepper

Instructions

  • Put chicken in a bowl or container.
  • Pour in pineapple juice.
  • Rub in sugar, soy sauce, salt and a dash of black pepper to the chicken.
  • Mix well, cover the container and marinate overnight.
  • Heat cooking oil in a pot.
  • Put in chicken and fry each side of the chicken for 6 minutes.
  • Remove chicken from pot and set aside.
  • On the same pot, sauté onions.
  • Add in garlic once onions are translucent. Sauté until garlic is golden brown.
  • Add pan fried chickens.
  • Pour in the marinate, cover and bring to a boil.
  • Simmer each side of the chicken for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Add in sliced pineapples and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, serve and enjoy.
