Crispy Fried Calamares
Here is a delicious recipe for squid lovers and fried food lovers. Calamares is a Filipino term for squid rings dredge in a seasoned batter before deep-frying.

- 400 grams squid rings
- 1 pc egg
- 2 sachets breading mix ready-to-use
- salt add as needed
- pepper add as needed
- cooking oil for deep frying
Place the squid rings in a medium-size bowl.
Pour 1 sachet of breading mix into the bowl and 1 piece of egg. Add condiments such as pepper and salt to adjust the flavor of the mixture according to your taste.
Coat evenly the squid rings with the mixture.
On a clean plate pour another sachet of a breading mix.
At the same time, prepare a deep pan with preheat cooking oil enough to fully submerged the squid rings for deep frying.
Dredge or coat the seasoned squid in another layer of a breading mix before frying.
Deep fry for 3 minutes or so until the squid turns golden brown in color.
Transfer the cooked calamares to a serving plate. Serve with a vinegar dip mixed with minced onions.
