Sardines omelette is a very savory, flavorful and healthy yet low costing dish. It is a great recipe for all especially for moms that have to feed a large family who wants to serve delicious and healthy meals but with a limited budget.

This budget friendly dish is  very easy to prepare and cook even for beginners. Start by separating the sardines from the sauce, then mixing it to the eggs, onions and spices and pan frying it.

HOW TO COOK Sardines Omelette - Sardines Recipes ( Omelet Recipes ) - Pinoy Recipes

     In cooking this omelet, start by opening a can of sardines in tomato sauce and separate the sardines from the tomato sauce. Set aside the tomato sauce.

     Next, in a bowl, put eggs, a pinch of salt, a dash of ground pepper, maggi seasoning granules, red onion and sardines. Mash the sardines and then mix until texture softens.

     Heat pan and drizzle with cooking oil. Scoop a portion of the mixture then fry in medium heat until the bottom becomes firm. Flip the omelet to cook the other side. Side note, you can pour all the mixture once and spread it over the pan to minimize the time for cooking or follow our given procedure. Repeat last procedure for the rest of the mixture in case you’re cooking the mixture in portions.

     Once done frying all of the mixture, transfer the cooked omelets on a plate. Serve with the sardines’ tomato sauce on top or on the side. Enjoy!

What type of sardines to use?

In this recipe we used regular sardines in tomato sauce. However, you can use other variants as to your preference.

Tips on Cooking this recipe

  • For best results debone the sardines before mashing and mixing it with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Fry the sardines and egg mixture in portions to have more servings.
  • Garnish with onion chives if desired.

Ingredients

  • 1 can sardines 155 grams
  • 1 pc onion minced
  • 2 pcs egg
  • 1/8 tsp magic sarap seasoning granules optional
  • cooking oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • Open a can of sardines and separate sardines from the tomato sauce. Set aside the tomato sauce.
  • In a bowl put in eggs, a pinch of salt, a dash of ground pepper, maggi seasoning granules, red onion and sardines.  
  • Mash the sardines and mix until texture softens.
  • Heat pan and drizzle with cooking oil.

  • Repeat step 5 for the rest of the mixture, in case you're cooking the mixture in portions.
  • Once done frying all of the mixture, transfer on a plate. Another side note, garnish the tomato sauce over the sardines omelet or serve it separately.
