Start cooking this easy popcorn shrimp recipe just by coating the shrimp with flour mixture, dipping it in egg, dredging it again in flour mixture and finally, deep frying it in oil.

HOW TO COOK EASY POPCORN SHRIMP RECIPE ( Shrimp Poppers )

     To cook Shrimp Popcorn, first mix all purpose flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika and chili powder in a bowl. Divide the flour mixture into two, set aside the other half. Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture.

     Next, in a separate bowl, mix in egg, milk and chili powder until well blended. Dip the shrimp in the egg mixture then dredge it again in the other half of the flour mixture.

    To fry, heat cooking oil for deep frying in a pan. Deep fry shrimp until golden brown in color. Once shrimp is cooked, remove from oil and drain from excess oil. Transfer to a plate and serve. Enjoy!

What size of Shrimp to use?

We used medium sized Shrimp in this recipe, however, you can use the size of shrimp you prefer.

What is alternative to paprika

If you do not have paprika you can skip this ingredients. This taste better with Paprika though.

Where to buy paprika seasoning

Paprika can be bought in supermarkets and in some large grocery stores.

Tips on Cooking this recipe

  • Use fresh shrimp for best results.
  • Place a paper towel on top of the plate before putting the cooked shrimp to remove the excess oil.
  • You can also add bread crumbs or panko in the last flour mixture if desired.

  • 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
