No Bake Lasagna In a Pot (Without Oven)

Give in to your pasta cravings with this delicious no bake  lasagna pasta recipe. This one pot wonder is made up of lasagna pasta cooked in tomato sauce with ground beef, cheese, spices and white sauce from butter, flour, milk and cheese. 

Lasagna is traditionally cooked in layers and stacked with ragu (ground meat and tomato sauce) beneath them, topped with cheese and then baked . However, in this recipe, the pasta is broken into smaller pieces, boiled in tomato sauce and sautéed ground beef and spices, and then simmered with cheese and white sauce.

HOW TO COOK No Bake Lasagna In a Pot ( No Bake Filipino - Style Recipe )

      Prepare the white sauce first by melting butter in a sauce pan. Then, add flour in portions and mix until flour dissolves in butter. Gradually pour in half of the evaporated milk, mix to blend it well. Grate quickmelt cheese in the mixture and then pour in the remaining evaporated milk. Continuously stir to mix it well and reach a creamy smooth texture. Remove pan from heat and set aside.

     Next, drizzle cooking oil in a large pot and sauté onions. Once onions are translucent, add in ground beef. Stir occasionally to avoid beef from sticking to the pan. Cook until beef turns light brown in color. Break lasagna pasta in small pieces and put them in the pot. Pour in the tomato sauce and water. Shake the pot so that the tomato sauce and water will mix with the beef and pasta.

     Add in beef cubes and bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pasta cooks. Occasionally stir to prevent pasta from sticking in the pot. Season with garlic powder, salt and a dash of black pepper. Mix well. Scoop in white sauce and add it in the mixture and stir to mix. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and garnish with parsley. Simmer for another 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Pass on a platter, serve and enjoy.

Usually lasagna pasta can be bought in supermarkets and large grocery stores. Nowadays, you can find them in the dry section of some local public markets.

what to use if garlic powder is not available?

Chopped garlic can be used as garlic powder substitute. It can be sautéed together with the onions.
