Magnum is a Belgian brand of ice cream bars owned by British-Dutch company Unilever originally developed and produced by Frisko in the Danish city Aarhus. The original magnum consists of a thick bar of vanilla ice cream with chocolate coating in a stick.

This quick and easy recipe of Magnum ice cream candy also called ice cream candy with magic shell is the same as the original Magnum Ice cream bar made of a thick vanilla ice cream with chocolate coating using only four ingredients.
We made a step by step procedure to help you prepare Magnum ice cream recipe.
Procedure how to make magnum ice Candy

We got to start 1 day before the actual preparation for us to prepare the ingredients. Prechill your all-purpose cream, condensed milk, and evaporated milk overnight. Pour the chilled 1 pack of all-purpose cream, 1 can of condensed milk, and 1 can of evaporated milk into the blender and mix vigorously until all ingredients are well blended. Set aside for later.
For the chocolate coating, first, prepare and use a double boiler in melting the bar of chocolates. Melt 4 to 5 bars of chocolate (for this recipe we chose the combination of Milky and Dark flavor of Goya chocolate bar). Transfer the melted chocolate to a pastry bag or a squeeze bottle.
Pour a portion of the melted chocolate in an ice candy plastic bag enough to evenly coat the almost full portion of the bag. Use a funnel to pour the ice cream mixture inside of the ice candy bag. Squeeze tightly by twisting downward and tie the opening of the ice candy bag to seal the ingredients inside.
Freeze overnight. Serve for merienda or as dessert after a meal.

Tips on Cooking Magnum Ice Candy
- Tip 1: Choose your chocolate wisely – You can use other chocolate brands like Hershey’s or Cadbury, but Goya is the most budget-friendly option.
- Tip 2: Use a hand mixer as alternative – You can use a hand mixer if you don’t have a blender.
- Tip 3: Use a piping bag for chocolate – Use a piping bag to transfer the melted chocolate into the plastic bag. It’s easier and more precise than pouring.
- Tip 4: Seal the plastic bag tightly – Make sure to seal the plastic bag securely so the chocolate coating stays in place and is evenly distributed.
- Tip 5: Use enough chocolate coating – Make sure you have enough chocolate so the cream filling doesn’t show through in the middle.
How Not to Fail making magnum ice candy
Spread chocolate evenly – Use a stick or spatula to spread the chocolate evenly throughout the plastic bag, making sure every corner is coated properly.
Mix the ice cream mixture well – Make sure the ingredients are blended evenly in the blender to achieve a balanced and proper taste.
Freeze long enough – Depending on your freezer’s efficiency (whether it’s new or old), you may need to freeze it longer (12-24 hours) to ensure the entire ice candy sets completely and forms properly.
Alternative Ingredients
- You can use other chocolate brands based on your preference and budget.
- If you don’t have a blender, you can use a hand mixer or whisk manually.
