A warm halo halo-like treat called bilo bilo is excellent for breakfast, snacks, rainy days, or just any day spent with family and friends. Your recipe would be even better if you add saba bananas, sweet potatoes, or anything else you’d like.

This Ginataang bilo-bilo, also known as halo halo, is made with glutinous rice balls made at home and a variety of inexpensive palengke ingredients. Although most people prefer this sweet coconut milk soup cold and chilled, it is usually served warm as a snack or dessert. It will still taste delicious regardless of which method you use.

HOW TO COOK Ginataang Bilo Bilo

Prepare all of the ingredients and place the glutinous rice flour in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water and mix it together, then form it into a ball if the texture is already right. Put the water, coconut milk, sweet potato, sugar, and purple yam in a pot and cook for 3-4 minutes. After 4 minutes, add the banana (saba) and cook for another 6-7 minutes. After that, add the bilo bilo balls, jackfruit, and tapioca, then bring to a boil before serving.
