Beef Shawarma Recipe with Garlic Mayo Sauce
We will teach you how to make Beef Shawarma Recipe with Garlic Mayo Sauce using your own homemade Fita bread. Shawarma is a Middle East cuisine dish, and one of the most popular street food in the world. That has now become one of the favorite snacks for the Filipinos.
Consists of meat sliced into thin slices, stacked in a cone-like shape and roasted on a vertical slow-turning rotisserie. Originally made of lamb or mutton, Shawarma today can be chicken, turkey, beef, or veal as well. The cooked surface is shaved off with thin slices as it rotates continuously.
Prepared from thin cuts of seasoned marinated lamb, mutton, veal, beef, chicken, or turkey commonly served as a sandwich or wrap in a flat bread.
Put together a ground beef meat, thin slices of cucumber, tomato, white onion serve in wrap on a pita bread with garlic mayo dressing.

How to prepare the Fita Bread
We are going to start with the preparation off Pita bread for your shawarma. In a medium size mixing bowl, put two cups of all-purpose flour, two teaspoon of baking powder, one teaspoon of sugar, two teaspoon of salt. Mix well the ingredients.
Transfer the flour mixture in a larger bowl. Add two tablespoon of cooking oil and one cup of warm water and mix well.
Knead the dough on a floured surfaced for ten minutes. Gradually add all-purpose flour(add as needed). Transfer in a bowl cover with a cling wrap. Let it sit for thirty minutes.
After thirty minutes, divide the dough into eight equal part. Flatten the dough in a floured surface
Cook in a frying pan one minute each side of the bread.
Garlic Mayo sauce
For the garlic mayo sauce lets mix 1/2 cup of mayonnaise with 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder transfer on a pastry bag.
Shawarma filling
We will prepare next the shawarma filling. Heat two – three tablespoon of cooking oil in a frying pan. Saute three cloves of minced garlic and one piece of minced red onion.
Add 500 grams of ground beef, a pinch of salt and a dash of black ground pepper. Cook for a while then add one tablespoon of soy sauce, two tablespoon of oyster sauce and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Pan fry until the beef meat if cook. Transfer on a clean bowl and set aside.
Beef Shawarma wrapping
Last is let’s combine all the prepared ingredients. Place the pita bread in a flat surface. Put desired amount of meat filling, thin slices of cucumber, tomatoes and white onion and then top with the garlic mayo dressing.
Fold the side of the bread in the middle and turn over bottom side upward. Pin with a wooden pick to secure the filling inside.
Serve for snacks!

- Cucumber Vegetable filling
- White Onion Vegetable filling
- Tomatoes Vegetable filling
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Garlic Mayo sauce ingredients
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
