A Pinoy traditional Beef Morcon Recipe will make any party, special day, or even an ordinary day extra spectacular because to its quality and aroma. A little trivia: The word morcon originated from a spanish word, It refers to a form of sausage used for filling.

Morcon is a beef roll loaded with sliced  carrots, bell pepper, pickle, hard boiled egg, and cheese it is prepared from marinated sliced beef that has been flattened. After that, it’s folded up like a jelly roll, with all of the stuffing inside.This dish is ideal for forming ties and sharing laughs with your family and friends.

HOW TO cook beef morcon

First, prepare all the needed ingredients for this recipe and then flatten the beef that you are going to use. Mix together the soy sauce, salt, black pepper and garlic powder and mix it well and marinate the beef there. Next is put hardboiled egg, hotdog, cheese and a slice of pickles and carrots on the beef then roll it and tie it with yarn. Sautéed the garlic and onion then add the sauce soy that you used to marinate the beef, add some water and stir it well.

Add beef cubes, tomato sauce and stir it well, then pour out the pineapple juice,next is to add cheese,salt and black pepper then bring it to boil, then put the marinated beef to it. Simmer it for 45-60 minutes then remove it and let it cool. Then continue to boil the sauce until it thickens next is to remove the yarn from the beef and coat it with a flour and fry Morcon until it crisp. Slice it and then after that put the sauce above it and then enjoy.

any substitute for pickles if it is not available?

You can have different substitute for sweet pickles if it is not available on supermarket but the very much available always is the red onion. This is an excellent high-quality alternative for pickles.

Tips on Cooking this recipe

  • You can add some lemon for the mixing of your soy sauce that will be used on marinating 
  • Thicken the sauce properly because sauce has a big impact to your Moron
  • Choose thin beef

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo Beef
  • 4 pcs Hotdogs
  • 4 pcs Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 4 pcs Cheese
  • 4 pcs Carrots
  • 4 pcs Pickles
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 2 pcs Beef Cubes
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Cheese ( for Morcon Sauce )
  • 200 grams Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 pc Onion
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar Optional

Instructions

  • Prepare all the needed ingredients for this recipe.
  • Mix together the soy sauce, salt, black pepper and garlic powder and mix it well.
  • Marinate the beef on the sauce.
